Short week . . . (Nov. 5-Nov. 9)

As most of you know, there was no school this Monday (yes, my meetings were FANTASTIC!!) so the kids will only be responsible for having homework Tuesday-Friday!!

Homework for the week:
Tuesday: Spelling & Math Sheet
Wednesday: Spelling, Math Sheet, & Contractions Worksheet
Thursday: Spelling, WPM, Plural & Singular Nouns
Friday: Read a book ****

***One important note, the kids are expected to read at least 6 books a month and take tests on them. If they are able to do this, they are awarded an hour at the end of each month where they can play games, do art, or watch a movie. Several of the students were not able to make this goal. Please encourage your child to read books at home!! Thanks for your help.

Also, we are going to be working on projects that have to do with a particular country. The country that I have choosen to concentrate on is Mexico. If you have any knowledge on Mexico and would like to share it with the class that would be greatly appreciated! So far, we have a lady from the Boise Art Museum coming to give a presentation on masks from Mexico in December.

The class would also like to send out a big THANK YOU to Amaria's mom, RaNell Goldthorpe! She came and shared her violin with us. It was great. The kids really enjoyed themselves and learned a lot!

Happy Halloween News . . .

This message is from our Two Terrific Room Mothers:
Hi! It's Halloween again and we are planning some fun activities for our upcoming party. Next week we are goign to have a pumpkin decorating contest. Each student will get a pumpkin to decorate anyway they would like. During the party on the 31st {at 2:00 and yes, the kids may wear their costumes after the last recess so they don't get ruined!!}, the pumpkins will be judged. The winner will recieve a prize after judging is completed!! To offset the cost, please send $1.00 to school with your child by Friday, Oct. 19th. If you have any questions please call Becki at 739-7776, or Tracey at 642-1089.

Thanks,
Room Moms
Becki Dungan & Tracey Galemore
